On Wednesday, we had a lovely visit from The Bookery. The children listened to stories and then had the chance to buy a book. One child in Year One enjoyed reading her book on some fresh bales of hay! We loved seeing our Year 6 reading buddies!
The children loved their visit to the park in South Zeal today as a reward for their good behaviour and continued hard work.
We had the BEST day at Devon County Show with Year 2. There was SO much to see and do. The children were amazing and I was very proud of how they represented South Tawton. Thank you so much to all of the school staff and parents who volunteered to help: without you these trips cannot go ahead!
Highlights from this week include our habitat lesson with the Devon Wildlife Trust and The King’s Coronation celebrations!
This week, in History, we have been thinking about our family history and ancestors. The children made their family trees at home and had a super time talking about their relatives; it was lovely to hear their discussions.
Our DT project this term was on the topic of food and nutrition. The children identified and sorted fruits and vegetables. We looked at existing products and tasted two smoothies. Children then discussed their likes and dislikes and then went on to make their own smoothies. The children thought carefully about safety and hygiene and worked so nicely together to make a strawberry and banana smoothie and an apple, mango and orange smoothie. Well done, Year One!
The children looked fantastic in their red clothes today. Thank you for the generous donations to Comic Relief. 🔴
