We then enjoyed reading our reading books to them. We ended the week by writing our own adventurous ideas inspired by the story 'On the Way Home' by Jill Murphy.
We have been finding out about the King and the Coronation, then the children have independently written their own sentences.
We all enjoyed our whole school Coronation parade and party, what a great way to end the week! We enjoyed a walk to Mrs Glover's farm this week. We ran through the fields, saw the new piglets and fed the tame lambs.
We have had a swashbuckling time this week, culminating in our pirate dressing up day. The children's costumes and accessories looked fantastic and did the treasure chests, maps and wanted posters they created. We ended the week with a treasure hunt where we followed the clues and found our tasty treasure hidden up a tree!
![]() We have started the summer term full of adventurous ideas. We have decided to become pirates and create our own treasure maps, inspired by the story 'The Treasure of Pirate Frank'. We also had fun playing real life 'Pop Up Pirates' and balancing items on our pirates before the sea shanty song finished. We were so excited for our chicks to hatch this week. They have lived in the corner of our classroom and come out for cuddles each day.
